Inquire
The Geoffrey and Sarah Gund Foundation develops its grantmaking through relationships and its own program research, and invites proposals in two cycles each year. There is no open application, and we are not able to accept unsolicited full proposals. But the door is open for a short inquiry. If you have read our grant guidelines and believe your work fits our program areas and one of our four communities, we want to hear from you.
What to include
- •Your organization and its mission, in a few sentences
- •The community you serve, and which of our four places it is in (Cleveland, Martha's Vineyard, New York City, or Philadelphia)
- •Which of our program areas your work fits
- •The kind of support you would seek
A few sentences on each is plenty. Please do not send attachments or full proposals.
Submit your inquiry
Our online inquiry form is on its way. In the meantime, please send your inquiry by email and we'll be in touch.
What to expect
We respond to every inquiry within a few business days. If there appears to be a fit, we will invite you to share materials you already have, such as an annual report, a current budget, or a proposal you prepared for another funder. There is no need to write anything new for us.
If your work isn't a fit for our current priorities, we'll tell you, so you can put your energy elsewhere. We're a small team, and we don't believe in leaving organizations without an answer.
